Had a fantastic day out at the hides last Thursday. Paul has put a lot of thought and effort into the setup and it didn't disappoint with 3 or 4 squirrels there at any one time with probably 6 or 7 individuals around in the woodland.
Paul has a friendly approachable manner and it was a pleasure to spend the day in his company.
I look forward to visiting again

Visited the hide today (29/01/19), Paul met us and quickly gave us a run down for the day, and mentioned we would be treated to snowfall for the duration of the day. Within minutes of setting up we were visited by 8 or 9 squirrels (maybe more), and this continued throughout the day. Paul was on hand to change set up if we needed it, and there to give advice if needed. Paul ensured we got the best from the day, and we got the images we were wanting. Paul and his set up are definitely worth the visit if you want high quality images, in great hides. I cannot recommend him enough. We will be returning soon.

Had a great day with Paul at his Red Squirrel hides, My expectations were exceeded within minutes as the squirrels were abundant from the start. The set up there is excellent and Paul has clearly put a great deal of time and effort in getting the conditions perfect for attracting the little red cute things. The weather was ideal, snow on the ground and sun in the sky, so I was very lucky.
As a bonus there was plenty of woodland birdlife as well, so sometimes it was difficult to work out what to shoot as there was so much going on. Paul spotted a Goldcrest and helped me get some decent shots of a bird that is difficult to photograph. Paul clearly knows his stuff and I got much more out of the day as a result.
Strongly recommended. ๐Ÿ˜„

4 of us spent a day with Paul at his Red Squirrel hide, first class communication throughout, met him at the agreed location for a short drive to the hide. The first Squirrel arrived as Paul was putting out food, hard to say how many were there as they were running about all over the place. Dark grey day but cant be helped, Paul was on hand throughout the day with advice and tips, we came away with some lovely images and an experience which we will be repeating ( If he will have us back, the noisey four ! ) ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks Paul for a great day, would reccomend and already have done

Enjoyed a fantastic morning watching Red Squirrels in North Yorkshire yesterday. runs this fantastic hide experience in the wilderness and I was his first customer since he took over this โ€˜secret locationโ€™. Recommend the reflection pool and a camera that has a fast lens I.e low aperture as sometimes there isnโ€™t a lot of light. Although over the course of a morning bright spots have happened on both occasions that Iโ€™ve been. Delighted with my photos and would go again #RedSquirel #Hawes #NorthYorkshire #photography

I booked Paul's Reflection Pool hide and spent a great day there yesterday photographing the Red Squirrels. The location and hide itself are just wonderful, and Paul obviously spends a lot of time and thought into setting up the area to provide some great photographic opportunities without affecting the squirrels natural behaviour. There's one thing however that he can't control, and that's the UK weather. It rained torrentially for much of the day, meaning the chances of smooth reflections were few and far between. However, I'd recommend this site whatever the weather - the squirrels and woodland birds aren't at all put off by the rain and were around the hide for almost the entire time I was there. I filled four and a half memory cards and it's going to take me ages to work through all these images, though even from glances at the back of the camera while in the hide I'm confident that some of these pictures will turn out to be some of my favourite images. Paul gave me some great guidance and tips on composition and post-processing, and was great company through the day. And oh well, I'll just have to visit again in search of slightly better weather conditions and that elusive reflection shot!

Went on a trip with Paul to Aviemore area. Had a great time and learned a lot under his guidance. Love his work. Just take a look at his Pine Martens in the 'mammals' folder. Everyone is a winner.

Nice work Cousin. Your photos touch the essentials of each subject. Really love the Scottish Highland images, especially the current Home page image. I guess it is of the Highlands. Keep producing this excellent work. You deserve to be appreciated by a wide audience.

An absolutely SENSATIONAL experience working with Paul. He is a true artist and master of his work. Emphasis on Artist! He took my Photography to a whole other level. If you are looking for somebody to teach you how to use your camera properly then look no further than Paul.

He is patient, uses terminology that you can understand and builds your confidence so that you are comfortable to go and take your own brilliant images. His love and passion of photography rubs off on you so be prepared to not want to put your camera down afterwards

I came away with some great pictures & a lot of confidence. I would definitely recommend Paul's services. You never feel rushed & he is happy to stay at each location trying different camera angles & filters etc. until you are happy with your results. Many thanks once again Paul for a thoroughly enjoyable day!

Hi Paul

I took my first nervous step into wildlife photography on your Yorkshire Dales Wildlife Tour and could not have asked for a better tutor. You immediately put me at ease, advised me on settings and chose some great locations. There was so much for me to take away from the day, such as taking test shots after setting up at each location, regular checks of the highlights and the need to know how to change settings quickly and react quickly. Your fieldcraft and knowledge of the area were essential and helped me to understand how different birds react, how nature moves on quickly, etc. and the need for patience.

I enjoyed my day immensely and was impressed with the results I got from my camera and lens, thanks to your guidance and choice of locations. The day flew by and I came away feeling much more confident and really enthusiastic to develop my skills and knowledge.

As a l client, I also appreciated and thank you for the safety of your driving.

I understand that I was your first client for this particular workshop and I feel privileged. I wholeheartedly recommend the workshop to those interested in wildlife photography and wish you every success for the future.
