Golden Eagle Workshop – Sweden
Dates:
Monday 8th February – Friday 12th February 2021 (FULLY BOOKED)
February 2022 (FULLY BOOKED)
February 2022 – I may run a 2nd trip if interested drop me a line
Why not escape the strain of the UK and its March/October dullness and join me on this workshop in the tranquil and stunning surroundings of northern Sweden, where you will be able to photograph one of the worlds most iconic and magnificent birds: The Golden Eagle, in its natural habitat.
Surrounded by quiet, pristine forests, you will be amazed at not only the winter landscape, but also how close you will be to these incredible birds of prey, watching and photographing them against a beautiful backdrop.
But Golden Eagles aren’t the only things you will see. Bullfinches, Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Grey Headed Woodpeckers as well as Willow Tits, Jays and of course the gorgeous Red Fox with its bushy winter coat. Most likely a Red Squirrel or two.
Itinerary
This workshop is for four nights with three days photography. We will travel to Sweden on the Thursday then spend Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the hides departing on Monday morning back to the UK.
Photographing Golden Eagles and other wildlife that are around the hides is often challenging especially when snowing. Your meter reading is likely to be all over the place, but I’ll be on hand to give expert advice on settings and to get your white balance correct throughout the three days. This will enable you to get the very best images possible.
Weather conditions is usually very cold, often upto minus 18 degrees so we need to wrap up with plenty of layers. There is however a heater or log burner in hides so you can hopefully stay warm during the day.
The day usually starts early leaving our accommodation at approx 5am and ending the session approx 5.30pm. We have a 10 minutes walk to the hides.

This is an amazing chance to photograph Badgers in the late evening as they are coming out to feed.
With room for two people (or 4 with an additional hide), the workshop will start around 30 minuteds before sunset, between March and September and is located in North Yorkshire.

Spend the morning with International Award Winning Photographer Paul Fowlie learning how to photograph wildlife. This is an ideal workshop for those starting off in photography and looking to photograph wildlife.

This is an outstanding opportunity to photograph this magnificent mammal in their natural habitat. We will be looking to capture the Red Stag Deer, on their rut, bellowing close up and at distance with the Highlands in the background, we may even be lucky and get some action shots.

The Lake District is one of the most beautiful places in Great Britain, with it’s natural outstanding beauty and also breathtaking lakes and mountains. These were made famous by Alfred Wainwright, in his 7 Pictorial Guides to the Lakeland Fells. Therefore Lake District photography is one of my favourite things to do. So why not join me on a Lake District Photography Workshop, and experience this wonderful area of country yourself?

We have Waterfalls, Dry Stone Walls, the Stone Barns at Muker to the amazing Limestone pavements of Malham. In fact the Yorkshire Dales is one of the most beautiful places in the UK, and why Yorkshire Dales photography is so popular.
